CRLS Historic Weekend Recap – STATE CHAMPIONS

Over the course of two separate Championship regattas, and 33 (!) races in 31.5 hours, it was truly a Historic weekend for CRLS Crew.

Saturday: New England Interscholastic Rowing Association Championships
This League consists of 42 New England public and (primarily) private school teams. Teams must qualify their crew in their division based on race results throughout the season. CRLS was one of two public schools to qualify for this year’s Championship.

For the first time in CRLS History:

ALL 4 Boys Crews Qualified for the Championship Regatta
ALL 8 CRLS Crews Qualified for the Championship Regatta
2 Crews advanced to the Grand Finals (Boys 4V and Boys 3V)
5 Total Crews advanced to a Final (Boys 4V, 3V, 2V, and Girls 2V and 1V)
First CRLS Crew to Finish 1st in a Final (Girls 1V, Petite Final)

The Boys 4V and 3V are ranked 6th in New England among their respective categories
The Girls and Boys 2V are ranked 10th in New England in their respective categories
The Girls 1V is ranked 7th in New England

Sunday: Massachusetts Public School Rowing Association State Championships vs Arlington Belmont, Boston Latin, Bromfield Acton Boxborough, Brookline, Haverhill, Hingham, Medford, Row Boston, Somerville, Shrewsbury, Lowell, Wayland Weston

The Varsity and Novice Girls medaled in all of their 4+ events, earning the Girls Fours Team Points Trophy. Special shout out to the Girls 2nd Novice 4+ for winning Gold in their event, and to the Girls Novice 8+ for crossing the line 1st in their Petite final.

The Boys swept all of their events, earning the Boys Fours Team Points Trophy, the Novice 4+ taking home the 1st Novice 4+ Cup, and the Varsity 4+ taking the Title of STATE CHAMPIONS!!!
