Mayor’s Cup vs BB&N, Saturday April 11

Good afternoon CRLS Crew families –
MAYOR’S CUP
The varsity racing season kicks off this Saturday, April 11 with the Mayor’s Cup. Racing vs. BBN will happen in the Powerhouse Stretch. If you’re new to the team, the Powerhouse is the straight section of the river between the Weeks footbridge and Magazine Beach. The course runs downstream (towards BU) and the best places to watch are from the River St. and Western Ave. bridges, or at Magazine Beach, between the river and the DCR pool. Racing is expected to start at 10:00am and will likely be over by 12:00pm – below is the anticipated schedule.
Results will be on Row2k.com after the races. If you want to know who won sooner, ask an athlete or coach.

BOYS NOVICE SCRIMMAGE
There will be one boys novice 8+ scrimmaging against Belmont Hill at 12:15 in the river stretch along Herter Park. They will likely race more than one time but it should be over by 12:45 at the latest. Verify with your child if they are rowing.

Novice Boys arrive at CBC:11:15

SNACKS!

As the Mayor’s Cup is a small, local event, we will only have energy boosting snacks available immediately before and after the race (think fruit, Welch’s gummies and granola bars).  Please make sure your rower has a good meal before they arrive at the boathouse.
