Hello CRLS Crew families!
As a reminder, the varsity boats only will be scrimmaging tomorrow against Newton Country Day, Winsor, Narragansett, and the Riverside Juniors. (Boston Latin dropped out, so the scrimmage got a new name: The Head Lamp!)
What you need to know:
- The teams will be racing in head race style, so all boats will start single file and race against the clock.
- The race course is the Head of the Charles course, which starts at the BU Boathouse and ends upstream from CBC across from Herter Park
- The boats will cross the start line in 20 second centers (increments). First boat starts at 9:55am. Last boat starts at 10:05. The order is included below.
- Depending on the size and speed of the crew, it should take between 18-25 minutes for each boat to cross the finish line.
- Best places to watch are on the bridges: River, Western, Weeks, Anderson and Eliot. There are also numerous benches all along the bike path on the river that provide excellent vantage points.
- CBC is holding a membership meeting during the race, so unfortunately we will not be able to watch from the boathouse.
- Because this is a local, informal scrimmage, we will NOT have a team tent or provide lunch, so we will not need volunteers. As with last week’s CRI Fall Classic, we will provide the kids with fruit before the race and some sugary carbs after.
